OnePlus, the tech giant has confirmed that the OnePlus Nord, 7 series and 6 series will be getting the new OxygenOS 11 based on Android 11. The company has been slow in delivering the updates but it has now confirmed that Oneplus Nord will be having the updates by the end of the week and the OnePlus 7 series including the onePlus 7 and onePlus 7T will get the update in coming weeks.

The company has confirmed the updates by posting on the official OnePlus forum, including a lot of other details and reason for delay. The main aim of the post was to make users aware that the OnePlus Nord will receive its first OxygenOS 11 Beta by this week. Following the Nord OnePlus 7 and 7T will be getting the same in upcoming weeks.

OnePlus has been leading the market and has maintained a reputation for delivering the latest version of Android and OxygenOS to the company’s phone lineup. But the company has been slow in delivering the latest version this time for the 7 series, 6 series and OnePlus Nord. On the other hand Samsung as being the competitor has performed better this time by rolling out the Android 11 in some of the older devices.

The latest OnePlus 8T came with the OxygenOS 11, while the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro got the updates in the month of October. This new year the company has aimed to update the older phones of the brand. Following the OnePlus Nord, OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus 7T, OnePlus 7T Pro, OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T will be receiving the new open beta version of the OxygenOS 11.

“We have been working in parallel to release OxygenOS 11 to all these devices at the same time. As you may have heard, when porting Android 11 to the 7 and 7T series, we encountered a data decryption issue in these devices. We worked closely with Qualcomm and, with their support, we are already running a Closed Beta test,” says OnePlus.

The Oneplus Nord was launched in the mid 2020 whereas the OnePlus 7 series was launched in the year 2019. The company has planned the best for its user as the OnePlus 6 and 6T user will also get their third and second major android update. The OnePlus 6 was launched in May 2018 with the Android 8.1 Oreo and was planned to have two more updates after the launch but it’s great news for the user as they will be getting the third update. OnePlus 6T was launched in November 2018 with Android Pie.
