Feeling isolated during the Quarantine period? The entire world is under a lockdown situation amid the deadly Coronavirus pandemic, which means you cannot go out and socialize with your friends.

To give the much-needed break to your quarantine period Whatsapp has recently announced that it is bumping up the number of participants who can join a video call at a time. In one of its recent reports, WhatsApp announced that the previous number of 4 is about to get doubled, which means the video call function will now allow 8 people to join the call.

However there will be no change in the security levels, and all the calls will be protected with end-to-end encryption. This means your call is completely private and hidden from unauthorized access and even WhatsApp cannot access it.

With the new announcement, Whats app is planning to boost its video calling feature. Whatsapp enjoys a user base of more than 2 billion and with the expansion of the video call feature, it will become a viable competitor to other video calling services like FaceTime, Zoom, Skype, etc.

The updated version of Whatsapp is yet to get uploaded on the Google Play store. In addition to this, its updated version is also missing from the MSPowerUser Note and is only available on the official website of Whatsapp.

Whatsapp hinted that the new version will soon be available on Google Play store for download. However, if you want to enjoy calling 8 different people at a time, you can only do it if all the participants are on the latest version of Whatsapp.

Stay connected with your near-and-dear ones in the most advanced way. The upgrade in the video calling capabilities is all set to bring much-needed relief to our isolated lives while stuck at home.

In addition to the boost in the video calling abilities, Facebook has also released a new feature earlier this week. The Messenger Room Feature was introduced to allow video chat with 50 people at a time. There is no time limit on the length of your video chats.
